Mission

Conduct and disseminate high-quality, high impact theoretical and empirical research for understanding and improving the quality and effectiveness of teaching, initial teacher education and the continuing growth and learning of educators.

Key areas of research focus and expertise

To develop contextually relevant, high impact, evidence-informed knowledge and understandings in relation to the following:

1.Effective provision of teaching and assessment strategies for supporting high quality learning progression and outcomes for diverse (including neuro-diverse) student groups in different curricular, school and regional contexts in UAE.

2.What processes, pedagogies and design features support effective initial teacher education programs and outcomes that are well adapted for the UAE’s distinctive cultural, social, and educational contexts.

3.Effective continuous professional learning processes, arrangements and outcomes in formal contexts of Government and University provision and through informal processes of school-to-school networks and communities of practice.
