In order to be admitted to the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) applicants must:
(a) Possess a recognized baccalaureate degree from an accredited University, earned in a discipline appropriate for the postgraduate diploma, and who have either:
- a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or its established equivalent,
- eligibility for teacher licensure in the UAE.
(b) Possess an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or equivalent (TOEFL IBT or TOEFL ITP or Pearson PTE Academic or EmSAT). Applicants with an IELTS of 5.5 can be admitted to the Postgraduate Diploma in Education on a provisional/conditional basis for one semester during which time they must raise their IELTS level to a score of 6.0.
