Dr. Rida Blaik Hourani

Dr. Rida Blaik Hourani holds a Ph.D. in Education Management and Policy from The University of Melbourne, Australia. Prior to joining ECAE, she held the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at Abu Dhabi University. She is a member of the Association of Teachers’ Education in Europe. Her main research interest are education policies, school reforms, professional development, sociology of education and pedagogies of social sciences.

Scott Parkman

Scott Parkman

Scott Parkman holds a MA degree in Applied Linguistics (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages - TESOL) from Macquarie University, Australia, and an M.A.L.S in Secondary Social Studies Education from the State University of New York (USA). He is currently completing his EdD degree in Instructional Technology and Distance Education from Nova Southeastern University (USA). During his 12 years teaching at the tertiary level in the UAE he has taught undergraduate classes in Education, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Mathematics and English as a Second Language (ESL).

Dr. Shaljan Areepattamannil

Dr. Shaljan Areepattamannil

Dr. Shaljan Areepattamannil holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Queen’s University at Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Prior to joining ECAE, Dr. Shaljan was a research scientist in the Office of Education Research and an Assistant Professor in the Division of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Previously, he served as a teaching fellow in quantitative methods in Queen’s Faculty of Education. His research interests primarily revolve around psychosocial correlates and antecedents of student achievement and engagement across cultures.

Dr. Suha Al Hassan

Dr. Suha Al Hassan

Dr. Al-Hassan has a Ph.D. in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining ECAE, she worked as the Dean of Queen Rania Faculty for Childhood, at the Hashemite University, Jordan. She published tens of articles in high reputable journals. Since 2007, She has been working with a group of researchers from 10 countries in a longitudinal study on parenting across cultures that is led by Duke University and funded by the US National Institute of Health. She has consulted for several national and international organizations, and (co)lead several national level programs/evaluations/plans; she led the evaluation of the School Readiness Program and the early childhood program in Jordan, evaluation of the Better Parenting Program for UNICEF, and recently consulted for UNICEF to lead the development of Early Learning Development Standards for the government of Libya. She also worked as a learning disabilities specialist, and diagnostician.

Sumaya Saqr

Sumaya Saqr

Sumaya Saqr holds a Master’s degree in Education is a PhD candidate in Education at Curtin University, Australia. Sumaya currently teaches in the BEd Program at ECAE. She previously served as a middle and high school teacher of English, and as Educational Supervisor in UAE K-12 schools. Her current research explores professional learning communities in schools. She also investigates policy, practice, and reform of Education in the UAE.

Tracey Marie White

Tracey Marie White

Tracey Marie White holds a Masters of Philosophy in teaching Modern Languages to Adults from the University of Dundee, Scotland. Prior to joining ECAE, she worked as a teacher and Team Leader in the General Education Department at Abu Dhabi Women’s College, HCT. She has taught English, IELTS, and Ecology and has worked at the British Council in Egypt, Syria, and International House.

Alfredo Halique

Alfredo Halique

Mr. Alfredo Halique, holds a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering from University of San Agustin, Iloilo, Philippines, with some credits in Master Degree for the same course from the Petroleum Institute, Abu Dhabi. Before ECAE, He worked as Laboratory Instructor and Technician in Petroleum Institute. Mr. Halique was also a Process Engineer and Assistant Head of Laboratory in ADWEA Mirfa Power and Desal Plant in Mirfa, Abu Dhabi. Alfredo is a Member of Philippine Association of Chemical Engineers.
