| Welcome to the Student Affairs website section of ECAE!
Student Services staff members are here to help you throughout your stay at the College and are committed to providing you with a range of activities and services to suppliment your academic learning. We understand that learning and preparing to become teachers is your primary focus but there is so much more that you will want to learn and explore in order to be truly successful when you meet with your own class of students after graduation, as well as during your Practicum weeks each academic year.
Each semester, we will host a number of activities and you, the students, can play a valuable role in organizing and presenting these events. We invite you to become involved as much as your school work will allow. By participating in Student Services-generated functions, you will develop leadership skills and strengthen your ability to work in a team. These abilities will bring more balance to your college life and your academic work, and ultimately make you a stronger educator.
Over the past year, students have taken lead roles in preparation for National Day and International Week; they have developed the National Student Union which presented Rekaz, a series of lectures for students and external visitors devoted to building up our strengths and motivating us to become better citizens; students have started clubs such as the Japanese Culture Organization which played a key role in the development or cultural understanding as well as the International Week events. In addition, our Student Representative Association (SRA) is comprised of students from every program and section in the college and these students work together as a unit to ensure that the needs and desires of their classmates are heard.
There is something for everyone and we hope that you will take advantage of the opportunities that will ultimately enrich your college experience.
