Dr. Ebrahim Alhajri is currently the Vice Chancellor of the Emirates College of Advanced Education. He is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Khalifa University of Science and Technology with ten years of experience in higher education.
Prior to joining ECAE, Dr. Alhajri has held several key managerial positions in the former Petroleum Institute where he was the Director of External Relations and Collaborations looking after the institute’s partnerships, student exchange programs, alumni relations, community outreach and continuing education.
He has also led the establishment of the Committee on Committees efforts where he has led a team to identify the required institutional committees and drafted their bylaws. He has chaired a number of key committees and helped establish the research office operations and plans. He is a researcher himself where his research interests are in Advance Energy Systems, Micro Heat/Mass Exchangers, HVAC, Waste Heat Recovery and Absorption Cooling Utilization Micro-channels.
Dr. Alhajri has organized several national and international events and conferences and is an active professional in his field. He is the past president of the local ASHRAE Falcon Chapter and currently is the Sub-Region Chair for chapters in the Middle East, Africa, Pakistan and Turkey. He is a very active member in many local and international professional societies such as: ASME, SPE, and AIChE where he served as a chair and member of number of technical committees. He has received a number of awards and published a good number of journals and conference papers.
He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Denver and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona.
