Dr. Kathleen O’Hodge

Dr. Kathleen Hodge has 35 years of professional experience in Higher Education in the United States and in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Hodge has devoted her entire career to Higher Education holding positions including Faculty, Counselor, and Dean of Continuing Education. She served for six years as president of Fullerton College, California’s oldest continuously operating community college. Twice, for a total of eight years, she served as Vice Chancellor of Instruction and Acting Chancellor for the South Orange County Community College District. Dr. Hodge has held full time faculty positions in Psychology and Counseling and adjunct appointments in Communications and Leadership.

Her positions in Higher Education began as a counselor and member of the faculty at Saddleback College where she also served as Dean, Vice Chancellor and Acting Chancellor.

Dr. Hodge’s experience includes Higher Education positions in Abu Dhabi. She served as Managing Director of ADVETI and as Director of Abu Dhabi Women’s College, overseeing the City campus and the, then new, Khalifa A campus. Dr. Hodge is guided by a belief that access to higher education is a fundamental ingredient of an enlightened culture and an empowered society.

Dr. Hodge is a respected leader in the college community and served as Vice President of the Board for Chief Executive Officers of the California Community Colleges (CEOCCC); A Board, member of the Community College League of California (CCLC). She Served as President of the Statewide Commission on Athletics for the California Community Colleges (COA) and as the CAA representative to the NCAA. In addition, Dr. Hodge served as a Member of the Board of Councilors for the University of Southern California, Rossier School of Education, twice President of Faculty Senates and other appointments on State wide commissions and task forces and a member of the Board of Trustees of Emirates College of Advanced Education (ECAE). Dr. Hodge is responsible for the implementation of many innovative programs and the oversight of major award winning capital construction projects.

Dr. Hodge served as Chair or as a member of six different accreditation visiting teams and International Liaison for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges from Palmerston North, New Zealand. In addition she has served as Accreditation Liaison Officer and Chair of an Accreditation Self Study.

Dr. Hodge holds a doctorate in higher education from the University of Southern California, a Master's degree in counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in speech from California State University, Fullerton. In addition to her academic experience, Dr. Hodge is a licensed marriage and family therapist.
