Former Executive Director of Support Services, Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK); Chairman of BOT Audit Committee
Mr. Salem Al Sayari holds a Masters in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the Higher Colleges of Technology (2006) and a Bachelors of Science with honor in Economics and Accounting from United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) (1989). In 2011, he enrolled in a Doctorate of Business Administration Program with UAEU. In addition, Mr. Al Sayari obtained the status of Certified Public Accountant in 1997 from the US.
Mr. Salem has an extensive career at a senior level which spans more than 10 years. Since 2008 he has held the position of Executive Director of Support Services for the Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) and previously held senior positions in other Abu Dhabi government institutions such as Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority, and Abu Dhabi distribution Company.
His key areas of expertise include leadership management, strategic business planning, budget preparation including: consolidated group budgets, individual company financial statements and consolidated group financial accounts as well as investment evaluation for acquisition, development of Financial Policy and Procedures, Functional Team Leader of Oracle Financial System, Implementation Version 11i (latest version in the Middle East), Module (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets & Cash Management).
In addition to being a Board of Trustees member with ECAE, Mr. Salem also serves on the following Boards: Abu Dhabi Emiratisation Council and United Arabian Power Company. In the past, Mr. Salem has also served on the Taqa Company and Al Ain Distribution Company Boards.
