ECAE recently invited members of the Abu Dhabi Education Council, school principals, advisors and school teachers to a School Appreciation Ceremony held in the Armed Forces Officers Club on April 29th 2010. This was an occasion for the college to thank the schools that welcomed ECAE’s student teachers for their Practicum experiences.

This event was honored by H.E. Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Director of School Operations, Abu Dhabi Education Council. Several school principals, curriculum advisors and school teachers graced this important event to show the support and partnership between schools and teacher education programs.

This academic year, over 250 students from ECAE were placed in private and public schools in Abu Dhabi city and its suburbs to gain an enriching school experience. School classrooms are an important site of learning in teacher education. The theories and approaches that students learn in college are tried and verified in the reality of the school settings. Students shared their reflections of their Practicum experience.
