Q: What programs are offered at the College? A: Currently, the College offers a four-year Bachelor of Education Program (B.Ed) and a one-year Foundation Program for select students who do not qualify for our B.Ed program.
The Foundation Program leads into our B.Ed program; it is not a stand-alone Foundation Program.
There is also a possibility we will offer a Post Graduate Degree in Education (PGDE) in February. A decision will be made in the near future. Those interested should provide their information to the admission office.
Q: I'm a new graduate-what requirements do I need to apply to ECAE? A: Bachelor of Education Program (B.Ed) or the Foundation Program
Recent High School Graduates
· Need at least a minimum CEPA score of 175 (or equivalent) and meet other admission requirements 85% on HS average, or the equivalent
· Emirati students who do not score high enough for direct entrance into the B Ed will need to attend the one-year Foundation Program.
Q: I graduated from high school before 2009-what do I need to apply to ECAE? A: To apply for admission to our B.Ed program, you must have:
· At least a 5.5 (in all areas) on an Academic IELTS or a 75 on an Internet-based TOEFL for admission directly into the B.Ed program (General IELTS and paper-based TOEFL scores will not be accepted for admission purposes).
· If the student attended another university program, she or he must provide transcripts from that program. They must fill out and turn in an application with copies of all the relevant documents before 15 August 2010. Also, the student should have a 3.0 GPA average or the equivalent at the previous tertiary institution.
· Emirati students who have been attending an English medium private school for the last 4 years of their education (i.e. Years 9 – 12) who have a passing grade in English but who have not achieved a Grade of B or higher may be permitted to take an Accuplacer test along with an interview to determine their placement in Foundations or B.Ed.
· Students with AS-levels completed can apply but they must submit their IGCSE or GCSE scores. These students won’t have a high school diploma until they finish their A-2 level, the IGCSE or GCSE will suffice in lieu of a diploma.

Q: How much does it cost to attend ECAE? A: The College offers a 100% tuition-free scholarship including costs of books and a free laptop. Students also get a monthly stipend and accommodation is offered for those living outside Abu Dhabi.
Q: Who can attend ECAE? A: Any qualified Emirati student is welcome to apply to the College.
Maximum age requirement to enter the college is 23 years old. Older mature students are advised to pass by the Registrar Office and discuss their interest to apply.
Q: Are the programs of the College accredited? A: The College academic team is working with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on the accreditation. We are hopeful that the accreditation will be awarded to the College in the near future.
Q: What are the nationalities of students enrolled at ECAE? A: Currently, the College only admits qualified UAE nationals. ECAE might accept expatriate students in the near future. Those interested should provide their information to the admission office.

Q: Who teaches at the College? A: The College hires international experienced faculty from the US, Canada, UK, Australia and several other countries.
Q: What is the language of classroom instruction at ECAE? A: All classes are taught in English.
Q: During which semester can I join the College? May I attend part-time? A: All new students may begin at ECAE at the start of the academic year (September) and only on a full-time basis.
Q: Does ECAE have a campus outside Abu Dhabi? A: No, at this stage ECAE operates from its campus in Abu Dhabi.
Q: Where is ECAE’S campus? A: The College campus is in Um Al Naar, Abu Dhabi, right next to the Maqta Bridge.
Q: Will I be able to transfer credits I earned at another college/university to ECAE? A: Transfer of credits from other local university/college is possible, but usually looked at on a case-by-case basis.
Q: Does the college offer transportation? A: The College only provides transportation to students living in the students’ accommodation.
